M. Rhys is a middle-aged person of uncertain gender who writes speculative fiction and has a lot of opinions. They immigrated from the USA to Finland in 2005, and have since resided there with their husband and two cats.
They contribute to and edit two ongoing webcomics: The Path to Timbala, a fantasy in the vein of classic manga, and Solivaga, a dark fantasy.
They have also written a novella for the now-defunct Stupid Stupid Games, Necromancer (review PDF available upon request).
Their fiction is strongly character-driven and has a bent toward psychological and existential horror, while their non-fiction often focuses on issues of mental illness, gender and sexual identity, and analysis of their favorite media.
